I haven't read the whole article but I know that neurologists claim that our brains are predisposed to having spiritual experiences - not necessarily belief in a god. We also have predispositions to superstition - like yours. It is an artefact that arose from several hundred thousand years of the brains evolution not a gift from 'God'. -

a watcher,
"RealWitness, there are less than a handful of real Witnesses here, me being one of them, and the admins are not Witnesses."
And the question that all real Witnesses never answer is, "why are you here where the Watchtower bans you from going to?"

TheOnlyRealWittnessHere, "With all the negativity here I was wondering if I am the only one here that's a witness."
I think that there are others. I believe that SimonSays is one.

by Watchtower-Free ina few seconds ago this hit the net todayhttp://jwvictims.org/conventions-kingdom-halls-relief-funds-and-other-financial-scams-and-schemes-of-jehovahs-witnesses/.
conventions, kingdom halls, relief funds, and other financial scams and schemes of jehovahs witnesses.
jehovahs witnesses often note that at their meetings (like church services), they dont pass a collection plate.

SimonSays,
"...it turns out the WT is no different from any other Religion when it comes to corporate money. Catholics, Protestants, Baptist, Mormons, Scientologist, etc. Well except the Evangelist like Joel Osteen that will tell you outright to give them the money for personal use. I wonder how transparent those other religions are with their finances. Could you research those as well?"
Why should he research another religion when, as you said, they're the same as 'Babylon'.

What do you think? Should chimpanzees be granted 'personhood'?
by fulltimestudent inthere's a current court case in ny which is hearing that question right now.
the precise issue is the continued captivity of two chimpanzees, (leo and hercules, names bestowed by humans) in a medical research laboratory at stony brook university.. i suggest that the application has some merit.
are not all of us "animals?

LoveUniHateExams, "Should Frodo be prosecuted for murder?"
Chimpanzees, male and sometimes female are known for this behavior. I read Jane Goodall's book In The Shadow of Man where she says that she kept her child inside a cage to prevent Chimpanzees from harming him. She described the anger of a chimp when he couldn't get through the cage.
The bottom line is that the chimp who did this should be killed.
By the way, I did not say that chimps should be regarded as persons, simply that it is not a question with any clear cut answer and I offered examples of other Homonin species that would probably be problematic in being referred to as a person. Their character would have to be taken into account if they would happen to be close to humans in captivity or otherwise.
